Job Description and Duties
Live and work in beautiful Northwestern Ontario! Wildewood on Lake Savant offers housekeeping accommodations for hunters, fishermen, and outdoor enthusiasts. We are looking to fill 2 positions that would be ideal for an adventurous couple (See Tourist Resort Staff positions 1 & 2). Our season runs from mid-May to early October, however, we may be flexible for student schedules. Successful candidates will be required to live on site in a remote location. Lodging and food are provided along with 1 week paid vacation for those working the whole season. Lodging includes private rooms, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, and phone. Employees are welcome to use resort equipment for recreating on Lake Savant and the surrounding area in their free time. Job duties include but are not limited to: Transporting guests and supplies to and from the resort using off road vehicles, guiding fisherman, providing lake orientations for new guests, grounds maintenance, minor building repairs and maintenance, preparing and maintaining boats and outboard motors, instruct guests on proper use of equipment, refueling boats, dispensing bait to fisherman, occasionally assist in preparing food for welcome night for guests, and socializing with guests and ensure they are having a great time!
Qualifications (education, credentials, skills)
Successful candidates should have the following skills/attributes: a minimum of a high school diploma, hold a valid driver’s license with good driving record, the ability to live and work well with coworkers and supervisors, demonstrate experience fishing for fresh water fish species, ability to operate boats and off road vehicles such as UTV’s, be able to operate power tools, and be able to lift heavy objects. Above all, successful candidates should have a passion for fishing, the outdoors and tolerate living in a remote location. Candidates must have a positive attitude, be outgoing, and focused on customer satisfaction. Occasionally you will be required to work long days and up to 60 hours per week (contract includes overtime pay). Previous resort experience is preferred, but not required.
*Some skills not required that are desirable for the position are: mechanical experience and ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines.

Job duties include but are not limited to: Check in guests, occasionally answer phone calls, arrange guest pickup times and bait orders, occasionally transport guests and supplies to and from the resort using off road vehicles, weekly cabin cleaning and light housekeeping, instruct guests on proper use of equipment, refueling boats, dispensing bait to fisherman, assist in preparing food for welcome night for guests (1 or 2 times per week), and socializing with guests and ensure they are having a great time!

Above all, candidates must have a positive attitude, be outgoing, and focused on customer satisfaction. Successful candidates should also have a passion for the outdoors and tolerate living in a remote location. Occasionally you will be required to work long days and up to 60 hours per week (contract includes overtime pay).
*Previous resort experience is preferred, but not required.
